In addition to rotating ecological/environmental literature into my daily reading, I also want to include psychology books. Here is where I will be collecting book lists on psychological topics. I’m mostly interested in books recently published, though I won’t exclude earlier, classic, literary works. I am not interested in the psychology of money or business success; my interests tend toward emotions, trauma and recovery, creativity, depth psychology, ecstatic experiences, and neuropsychology.
- APA Books. American Psychological Association. These are specialized texts intended for psychologists, students, and researchers.
- Psychology Book Club Podcast. The group went inactive after August 2017, but the titles listed include authors such as Gabor Mate. He has interested me in the past.
- Boston Public Library LibGuide. Nonfiction: Psychology and Sociology Book Recommendations. Books for the adult reading public.
- UW-Madison. Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Mind Readers Book Club. These titles focus on Alzheimer’s and dementia. Most are oriented toward families and care givers, but books on prevention and even a memoir is included. Worth a return visit.
- Five Books. The Best Books on Ecstatic Experiences. This theme blurs the boundary between psychology and spirituality. I’m keeping it in the first category for now.
