About

Margaret Coombs is a former librarian who loves to read great literature.

She has published numerous poems in journals that include Lothlorien Poetry Journal, Moss Piglet, Contemporary Haibun Today, and Verse Virtual. She is a contributing poet to Mad Swirl magazine, a poetry reader for the Sunlight Press, and the poetry editor at The Solitary Plover, published by the Friends of Lorine Niedecker. Along with Tara Huck and Tracey Koach, she is the co-founder and co-owner of the Fresh Water Press, a small press located in Manitowoc-Two Rivers. She has published one chapbook under the name Peggy Turnbull, titled The Joy of Their Holiness (Kelsey Press); Cyberwit Press published her second, Where Sweetness Falls With the Rain, and her third, from the same publisher, is forthcoming in 2026. After retiring from her librarian position at the University of Wisconsin Colleges, she and her husband Bob continue to live in her hometown, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
