I wrote multiple drafts of a poem, but something was wrong with it. I workshopped it with a group of U of Iowa International Writing Program students and no one could identify what was wrong. Today is the second day of a two day snowstorm. It’s hovering at zero and there’s wind and fine particles of precipitate slanting down from the heavens. Definitely a day to stay indoors. I looked at the poem. The poem remained stubbornly stuck. What about a prose poem? Not quite. What about flash fiction? Yes! I think so! I submitted it. It may find a home or it may come back. But this is something to consider in the future when I run into another quagmire.

Feeling satisfied.
